What is Pain?
Answer: There are two types of pain: Acute and Chronic.
Acute pain is less than 3 months duration. Some of the examples are like post-surgical pain and fracture pain. In these conditions one expects to have a full recovery without any significant residual pain.
Chronic pain is persistent pain more than 3 months duration. Some of the examples are diabetic neuropathy pain, post-shingles pain, and chronic neck and back pain after motor vehicle accidents, injuries, or surgeries.
